The 200th anniversary of independence will be marked with programming in Cape Frio and Araruma

To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Brazil’s independence, which is celebrated this Wednesday the 7th, the municipalities of Cabo Frio and Araruama in the Lagos do Rio region have prepared a special program to mark the date.

In Cabo Frio, the opening takes place on the day of the national holiday at 9 am in front of the city hall, with the raising of the Brazilian flag and a musical performance with Coral Marearte.

Starting at 11 am, there will be a ceremony for the installation of the Center for Environmental Education and Culture at the Casa do Bicentenário, a space that opened last year, adjacent to the Fonte do Itajúrú Municipal Park, which also welcomes: , the Cultural and Afro-Entrepreneurial Dandaras Fair in the afternoon.

Festivities continue on September 8, 14 and 28 at the Casa de Cultura José de Dome in Charitas.

The bicentennial of Brazil’s Independence will be celebrated in Araruma with two civic parades.

The opening of Semana da Pátria in the city was supposed to take place last weekend in São Vicente, in the third district, but due to weather conditions, it had to be moved to next Friday.

In a press release from the municipality, it is said that “due to the rainy weather last Friday, the 4th, the parade organizing team decided to move the event to September 9th”.

The first parade of the bicentennial program will take place on Wednesday, the 7th, in Menino João Helio Square in the center of the city.
