Software developed at UFSC helps reduce damage to oil refinery pipelines

A project developed at the Laboratory of Vibration and Acoustics at the Technology Center of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) will contribute to the reduction of losses caused by excessive vibrations in pipeline systems in oil refineries. The project, called “Acoustic Pulsation Analysis in Unit Pipes”, was launched in October 2019 and is sponsored by Petrobras. Financial and administrative management is carried out by the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa e Extensão Universitária (Fapeu), with the participation of nine members from the Mechanical Engineering Department of the UFSC.
